Congrats to John Riddle, 2022 Perfect Touch Champion
B. H. Graning Landscapes & Landscape Supply would like to announce a new Perfect Touch Champion, John Riddle.
Some facts provided by our champion:
- I am a Sophomore here at Western.
- I am a Natural Resource Management major with a concentration in forestry.
- I’m from a remote village in interior Alaska call Galena. Galena is only accessible by bush plane or snowmachine and is located 50 south of the artic circle.
- I have 4 family members. Three of which are alumni of WCU and the fourth will be a freshman here this upcoming semester.
- I came to be a part of the WCU community because it runs in my blood. Not only have all my family members attended WCU, but the southern Appalachians is my ancestral home ground.
- I hope to one day get a job with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) or the US Forest Service. While I’m still unsure on what my career will be long term, I plan on working as a Wildland Firefighter for a few seasons after college (I got officially certified to be a Type II Wildland Firefighter today).
- I was on my high school’s basketball team for all four years as the starting center, but before the competition, I hadn’t touched a basketball in nearly 2 years.
“I’d like to say thank you to B.H. Graning Landscape and Supplies for giving me the opportunity to participate and also for helping me, a broke college kid, out immensely with some much-needed cash.”
